March's Charity of the Month: The Dream Factory

The Dream Factory

For children who live with severe chronic illnesses and life-threatening medical conditions, a dream come true may improve their quality of life and help relieve the stress and depression that they and their families can endure on a daily basis.

The Dream Factory is a nonprofit organization based in Louisville, Kentucky, with the sole mission to grant dreams for critically and chronically ill children. The MDRT Foundation awarded a USD 15,000 grant to The Dream Factory so they could continue to grant at least one wish every day of the year, which include trips to Walt Disney World, shopping sprees, and meetings with celebrities and athletes.

Founded in 1980 by Charles Henault in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, his vision was to establish volunteer chapters all over the country to provide hope, inspiration and happiness to children who have long-term, severe chronic illnesses such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy and other life-threatening illnesses.
