Charity partner Days for Girls advances menstrual equity worldwide
Days for Girls (DfG) works to eliminate period poverty around the world with a mission to advance menstrual equity and opportunity for all. It is estimated that as many as 25% of girls and women of reproductive age do not have what they need to manage their periods with health, safety and dignity.
On average, women menstruate for an estimated 3,000 days in their lifetime. Many of those days are "lost" or impacted. This can put girls behind at school if they are absent or are negatively impacted once a month compared to their male classmates and colleagues.
DfG was the MDRT Foundation charity partner at the 2022 Top of the Table Annual Meeting.
Top of the Table members donated a total of USD 66,535, which was split evenly between DfG and the MDRT Foundation. An additional grant was made to DfG, resulting in a total donation of USD 54,687 to support their programs.
The MDRT Foundation invested USD 10,000 to purchase DfG sustainable menstrual hygiene kits, which were packed by 120 volunteers on-site at the 2022 Top of the Table Annual Meeting.
